€754,382 paid to Police in five years for hospital duty
The Police were paid €754,382 over the past five years for extra duties at Mater Dei Hospital, Home Affairs Minister Emanuel Mallia told PN MP Jason Azzopardi in reply to parliamentary questions
The Minister also specified that since last year two policemen were detailed at the Hospital's Emergency Department whereas before only one Policeman was on duty to control people.
Dr Mallia also refuted claims of fighting at the Emergency Department citing only one incident between a patient and a doctor. The Minister added that there were no reports of people injured during fights in the Emergency Department.
